Ms Carla Gipson Van Farowe

Miss Carla orginally hails from northern Michigan. She most recently was involved with the school reform in Doha, Qatar as a Curriculum Specialist and Consultant. Her experience also includes writing and presenting professional development to teachers internationally and in the Midwest USA. She has 15 years experience teaching secondary Science and English, served as English and Science Department Heads and has been involved in regional curriculum projects, She received her MA in communications and B.S in English and Science education from Eastern Michigan University.

As Curriculum Coordinator at AAG, her overall role is to align curriculum to standards by using the nationally recognised backward design approach; otherwise known as Understanding by Design or UbD. Her goals are to support and raise the quality of teaching learning and attainment of students throughout the school and to support the development and enhancement of the teaching practice of AAG staff.
