Assessment & Reporting
At AAG, we utilize traditional methods of assessment such as tests, quizzes, class work, and classroom participation. Understanding that traditional methods alone cannot accurately measure academic growth, our teachers also utilize research projects, writing portfolios, oral presentations, journals, labs, and standardized testing.
Parents are also encouraged to participate in their daughter's educational plan. You will have many opportunities throughout the year both formally and informally to discuss your daughter's progress with AAG teachers and support staff. This team approach ensures that none of our girls are overlooked.
Parents and students receive information regarding each class assessment policy from individual teachers at the start of the academic year. Our school year is divided into four quarters, each 10-13 weeks long. Recognizing the importance of parental involvement in your daughter's education, teachers communicate and conference with parents a number of times throughout the school year. In addition, parents receive a Progress Report halfway through each quarter as well as a Report Card at the end of each quarter.
Our first Report Card conference is a traditional parent-teacher conference. For the second and third Report Card periods the girls will discuss their past work and future goals with their parents and teachers.
